With over 25 years behind the wheel, I bring a lifetime of hands-on experience to the transport industry. My journey started on a farm, learning to drive old Commer and Bedford trucks through paddocks while hay was loaded on the back. Since then, the gear has evolved—but the passion for driving and machinery has never changed.
Professional Background
Military Background
I began my professional career in the New Zealand Defence Force, based at Linton with 10 Transport Company for five years. During that time, I completed a seven-month deployment to Sinai, Egypt, and later worked as a dispatcher with the Engineer Regiment.
This experience built a strong foundation in discipline, safety, logistics, and operating under pressure—skills I carry into every job today.
Transport & Crane Experience
After leaving the military, I moved into the civil and construction sector, working across Auckland and the wider North Island.
I've operated a wide range of equipment including Hiab and Palfinger cranes, flat decks and 5-axle trailers, and concrete transport and heavy machinery relocation.
My work has included transporting concrete products from Hynds and Humes, along with containers, portacoms, and general freight. I've worked alongside major contractors such as Fulton Hogan, Downer, and Brian Perry Civil.
High-Risk Environments
I'm experienced in high-risk and controlled environments, including:
- Live motorway work zones
- Rail corridor work with KiwiRail
- Secure airport sites requiring background checks
I've also been heavily involved in crane logistics—transporting and assisting with the assembly of large-scale equipment, including 300-tonne crawler cranes and 30–80 tonne mobile cranes.
Recent Experience
After returning to the Manawatū for family, I continued building my experience in bulk and concrete transport. This included:
- Bulk liquid transport (milk) for Fonterra
- Class 4 concrete mixer operations for Firth

Today, I operate as a contract driver, offering reliable, experienced, and adaptable support across a wide range of transport jobs.
